Mr Boom, Olympic-themed sports and a Chicken Pickers gig ? Lybster Gala?s in full swing

Local legend and one-man-band Mr Boom ? aka the county?s own Andy Munro ? will be at Lybster hall tonight to give a live interactive show.

The performer, who claims to live on the moon, was a fixture of many childhoods and he will no doubt be encouraging everyone to ?jump over the moon? ? as made famous in his shows.

The event is sure to appeal as much to local children as it will rekindle fond memories for the older generation.

Tomorrow the fun kicks off all over again ? quite literally ? as the local football ground hosts an Olympic-themed kids? sports day from midday.

Following that there is a Fairy Liquid five-a-side football match where teams will take on each other as well as 20 litres of washing-up liquid as they scramble to score on a slippery plastic pitch.

This will be accompanied by a barbecue, bouncy castle, tug-of-war, beat-the-goalie contest and much more.

To bring the day to a finish there will be a local derby football match between Lybster and Dunbeath before the teams hit the showers in anticipation of a night of country and rock with live music from Wick-based band The Chicken Pickers.
