Verizon still hasn?t given the Galaxy Nexus any of the last three Android updates

I don't know why people insist on putting the blame on VZW. Hey Yahoo!, why don't you do some research. Android 4.2 was chock full of bugs, not the least of which are deal-breaker bugs, like rapid battery drain, random, inexplicable reboots... not being able to enter December calendar items are one thing, but stability issues are a no-go. Even if VZW wanted to push these, it simply cannot.

Apple's model is to get the beta software available, put it in the hands of testers which include developers. They send the software what they think is the final software for carrier testing. All of this is being done without communicating anything to the general public. As far as the general public is concerned, the first time they hear about a software update is after it has gone through carrier testing and is approved.

This is different than Google's model. By virtue of it being open source, once it's available, it's shared to the public. It goes into testing at the same time. That's why it seems like it's taking forever to get through VZW and Sprint. That's not even counting the fact that the software has deal-breaking bugs.
